On Anna Baby, cables dress the front that buttons up. Two at first, under the neckline, then others that join in one by one as the raglan increases go on, until they cover the whole front.

The rest of the cardigan is in stockinette stitch: the second front, the back and the sleeves leave all the room to the cables. A garter stitch border frames the neckline, the button band and the hem, and the buttonholes are worked as you go.

Anna Baby is knitted from the top down, without seams. The yoke is worked back and forth, the cable panel grows with it, then the body and the sleeves are worked separately.

Sized from newborn to 18 months, it is a little cardigan I like to imagine worn every day, over a bodysuit, with its buttons neatly lined up along the cables.
