The Anne’s Freckles Hat is a top down hat worked in the round. The design chart for the crown and body is worked using mosaic knitting meaning you only use one colour per row. To maintain gauge, most tight knitters use a needle size bigger than required. The pattern contains a chart Freckles Motif and written directions.

Size: child (adult 1, adult 2)

• child - head size 18 inches (44 cm) - hat’s height 9 inches (22 cm)
• adult 1 - head size 22 inches (56 cm) - hat’s height 11 inches (28 cm)
• adult 2 - head size 26 inches (66 cm) - hat’s height 11 inches (28 cm)

If you have a different head measurement than what is mentioned, you can modify the cast on stitches by adding or subtracting for a number of stitches that is divisible by 4.

18 sts x 24 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm stockinette stitch in the round with US 7 - 4.5 mm circular needles or the
