YARN ALTERNATIVES
You can use any chunky-weight mohair-blend or brushed yarn
that works to the same tension to achieve a similar effect.
Hat is also shown in Rowan Brushed Fleece (65% wool/30% alpaca/5% polyamide, 50g/105m/115yds), using two balls of Cove 251.
TENSION
Work approximately 8 rnds in crown pattern to measure 10 x
10cm/4 x 4in, or 14dc and 16 rows in brim pattern to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in, using 5mm hook or size required to obtain tension.
To work a tension swatch with 5mm hook, make 20ch and
work one row in dc, one row in loop stitch (RS) for 20 rows,
then measure WS of work.
