This fingering weight scarf has an unusual stitch. As a result of the placement of the increases and decreases (as well as the knit an purled stitches), the scarf can have a highly textured look, or it can be flattened, depending upon how you block it. The one pictured here is blocked only moderately so that you could see the texture. The scarf pictured here is also edged with beads, which is optional. However, if you wish to do it, there are instructions contained within the pattern assisting you on bead single crochet.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, yarn overs, increasing and decreasing.)

Skill Level for the edging: Beginner + (assuming a good working knowledge of a single crochet stitch.

The scarf pictured here was expertly pattern tested by Dawn Smith who can be contacted at dzs04@msn.com (and is known on Ravelry as Sunnyhats. The scarf was made using Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in the colorway, Blackberry.
