Anti-Handburners
Modernized Diagonal Crochet Potholder

Sizes:
• Finished Size: Small (Large), Approx. 6” (8”)

Materials:
• 6.5mm standard crochet hook
• 1 Skein – Urth Yarns Galatea (Bulky)
• 100% cotton, 95yds/100g
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers (optional)

Notes:
➔ Machine washable – since this potholder is made from cotton, wash with your normal kitchen linens and continue to use!
➔ No sl st, inc, or dec is required, as we are working a spiral piece.

➔ For a fun embellishment, add some tassels on the ends, or even little pompoms. You can use the extra that’s left for the small version, or buy extra skeins for the larger version. If using a different yarn for embellishments, remember to use only cotton or wool yarn, as other yarn types may burn or catch on fire (here’s looking at you, acrylic!). Wool tends to felt if it’s not superwashed, so that’s another item to keep in mind.

➔ My grandma’s version of this lasted 30-40 years; since this is made with a bulky weight, high quality cotton yarn, I’m hoping for 50-60 years of life. Let’s keep track!
