Any SWIRL Scarf
Textured color-block sections divided by either an extended cross over stitch or a beaded stripe make this scarf interesting and eye catching. The ‘ANY SWIRL SCARF’ can be made in a variety of yarn weights. The pattern has instructions for Fingering, Sport and DK sizes. But once you see how the pattern repeats work, any weight of yarn is possible. Use a five-color SWIRL or SuperSWIRL for their amazing color combinations selected specially by Ewe2Yarn!
The beaded options are only for the Sport and DK versions.
Nice to Know:
This pattern is designed to use any of our 5 color sets, SWIRLS and SuperSWIRLS. There are eight color-block sections, two color-blocks for each of four colors. The fifth color in the SWIRL or SuperSWIRL is used for the borders, stripes, and fringe or tassels. In my samples I did two consecutive color-block sections in one color before proceeding to the next, but you can mix up your colors as you wish. Additionally, I gave you the approximate number of repeats for each section, but I really want to stress that it would be a good idea to weigh your yarn and use half of each color for each section so you will use up every bit of yarn (and not run short)! This pattern can be adapted to any yarn amounts or any numbers of colors used. Feel free to add more colors to make even longer versions of the scarf. You will get the hang of it after a couple of repeats.
The main color-block sections are done in a broken rib stitch pattern and the stripes are a 2 row extended cross over stitch. You may substitute a beaded stripe if you prefer and the instructions for this are given at the end of the pattern. The instruction for the beaded stripes are only for the Sport and DK versions.
This pattern is meant to be fun, so make it your own!! When planning your color scheme, Color 1 is the border and stripes, while Colors 2-5 are used in the main color-block sections, remembering each color accounts for two color-blocks.

Needles and Notions
US size 4 (US 5, US 6), 3.5mm (3.75mm, 4.0mm) or needle size to obtain gauge or fabric that you prefer.
Darning needle
If you are adding beads to your Sport or DK versions, you will need 480 size 6 beads. I used Debbie Abrahams Beads. These quality beads are available in our shop in packs of 500 beads.
Gauge
Although gauge is not important in a scarf, here is the gauge I got:
25 (24, 20) sts and 34 (32, 27) rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in broken rib, wet blocked.
I hope you have a lot of fun knitting this scarf!!
