The Apex Poncho is a light-weight outer layering garment that is great to use during the spring months, cooler summer nights and for the fall. It is worked up in one piece as an asymmetric Poncho with a split cowl collar.

The pattern is suitable for worsted weight yarns such as Caron Cakes or Bernat Premium and was initially designed with Loops & Threads Barcelona and Barcelona Dulce yarn which are “Bulky” weight yarns that work up more like heavy worsted weight yarn. Lion Brand Scarfie also works up well with this pattern. The amount of yarn required depends on the size being made, for the 2-4yr old size, approximately 160yds, for the 5-7yr old size, approximately 265yds, for the 8-10yr old size, approximately 360yds, for the 12-14yr old size, approximately 485yds and for the Average Adult Size, approximately 585yds is required for the pattern.

You will need a K (6.50mm) Hook for this pattern, if using Scarfie yarn, you’ll need an L (8.00mm) Hook.

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginner crocheters, very detailed instructions are included with several notes on how to size for a more personalized fit such as sizing up or down and for using other yarns. Some photos are included to help outline stitch placement and how to create the poncho and cowl.

Thank you for stopping by my listing, I hope you enjoy the pattern!
