Imagine an 18th century healer grinding away spices, herbs and seeds with her mortar and pestle in the surgery of her cold castle and it is easy to visualize her also wearing this casual and cosy oversized cowl and wristlets/fingerless mitts. The Apothecary set is not only functional but fashionable for the 18th century and today. The witch, Geillis, or the healer, Claire, would find this set perfect for their particular needs.

Wristlets/fingerless mitts: designed to be knit with or without the thumb hole this piece has a traveling cable stitch up the back of the hand. The traveling stitches make a sort of path on each wristlet/fingerless mitt that I imagine to be similar to the two paths that Claire gets to choose…either Frank or Jamie. These are knit holding two strands of yarn and are lightly fulled to soften the yarn and to match the cowl.

NOTE: when you purchase this pattern you also get the matching cowl pattern
