Apple naloxone cover and keychain
About naloxone:
Naloxone is the generic name of a medication that rapidly reverses the effects of opioid drugs such as fentanyl, heroin, and oxycodone. It is available as a nasal spray under brand names such as Narcan ® and Kloxxado ® (1).
An opioid overdose is a life-threatening emergency. In 2023, more than 55,000 individuals in the United States passed away from a drug overdose involving an opioid (2).
Carrying and knowing how to administer naloxone can save a life. You can learn more about how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose by watching this video from the Mass General Brigham hospital or by reading this pamphlet from the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
