The Apple River Shawl is one of the seven patterns from the Yarn Play collection – a collaboration with Malabrigo Yarns – by Katya Frankel.

The Apple River shawl is a lace knit with a difference. Its delicate lacy centre is framed by easy-knit stocking stitch wedges either side while the beautiful edging grows organically from the main lace motif. The shawl is knitted in one piece top-down and requires no assemblage.

The pattern is knitted in Malabrigo Lace, a soft singles yarn. I used the Applewood colourway which reminds me of speckled light on autumnal leaves.

Difficulty
Intermediate - knit, purl, lace knitting, simple decreases and increases, and finishing.
