A seasonal addition to the Yummy Yarn Club Fingerless Gloves Collection, the Appleseed Gloves Pattern will keep you warm in the cool weather of Autumn.

Colors of the Fall season grace this pair of gloves offering thoughts of the fragrances of cinnamon, warm apple cobbler and other delightful treats of the season.

The cuff of leaves reminds us of the muted tones of green that remain in Autumn, soon to turn into the vibrant shades of oranges and reds.

The fingerless feature of these gloves gives you the freedom to text, dial and write.

The size of the gloves are for the average women hand sizes and does work for teens.

You will need circular needles of US size 3 / 3.25 for the gloves (or dpns, if you prefer) and straight needles US size 3 / 3.25 for the leaf work. The glove is worked in one continuous piece, working in rounds. However, the leaf pattern in the cuff is worked in one length and then joined edge to edge. The glove is then worked into the cuff by picking stitches up through the garter stitch edge of the leaf pattern.

You will also need a stitch marker to keep your place from round to round.

Patons superwash DK wool yarns were used in the model. A merino wool is acceptable, as well. It is recommended that you have 2-3 oz of each of the two yarns of red, and cream and 3 oz for the leaf cuff. Only scraps for the seeds are necessary.

Swiss darning is the method used for the seeds. It keeps the inside of the gloves much cleaner from any carried yarn strands if colorwork had been used for the seeds. In this way, the darning allows you to embroider the seeds in one small space without the tangle of yarns that your fingers or rings will catch onto as you place the gloves on your hands.

If you would like a kit for this pattern, only yarn, marker and pattern will be included. Needle selection ( circular or dpns) will be up to the stitcher.
