My inspiration for the Petals Collection was a pale yellow rose, with the subtlest shades of peach and lavender within the bloom. It reminded me of old parchment paper, and when translated to fiber, it makes a beautiful and unique neutral that really shines in simple texture.

I paired a vertical rib with garter stitch, loving how they contrasted with each other - and at the transition from one texture to another, I added a simple lace detail that allows the ribs to come together and end beautifully.

This shawl can be worked in almost any weight or quantity of yarn, and you could easily play with colors as well - either striping the garter with as many shades as you want, or creating a panel to contrast two of Sundara’s lovely colors with one another. It’s a soothing classic knit that can be made over and over with variations….
