Light and airy, and at the same time warm and soft, this shawl hugs you just like gentle April wind. Its generous size combined with the light weight make it a great companion for that fickle in between seasons weather.

This pattern was designed to highlight the beauty of combining kid mohair with variegated fingering weight yarn. The alternating stripe patterns are easy to memorize and very satisfying to knit. Pick any two colors and see the pattern do its magic. April Wind will just fly off your needles ♡

Construction and Pattern Details

  • The shawl is knit from the corner in the shape of a skewed triangle.
  • Neither gauge nor yardage is critical for this project, as the number of section repeats can be easily adjusted. This way, you can use all the yarn from a skein without leftovers and waste.
  • If you’d like to get size and drape similar to a sample, make sure to check your gauge specifically on a blocked swatch.
  • Tassels can be added for an extra touch of boho and to make corners look more polished. Photo tutorial is provided.
