This coat is worked in the round from the center back. The armholes are then divided, and short rows are worked to shape the bodice down to the waistline of the skirt, after which the skirt is worked row by row. The sleeves are worked in the round.

There are no charts in this pattern, all instructions, including the lace, are written row by row/round by round with photographs detailing the initial gauge check as well as more complicated areas of construction.

3 length variations are offered for the skirt to accommodate shorter heights than the example coat.

Several parts of the pattern are worked together for all sizes. The pattern will direct you to skip to instructions pertaining to your size bracket. Sizes 2X/3X and 4X/5X use a 6mm hook for the short row shaping and skirt. The pattern will direct you when and where to change to this hook size.
