This pattern is available for free.

It kind of resembles a spider in the center, but I couldn’t call them “spider lace”, because that’s entirely something else in crochet. But spiders have eight legs, and arachnids have eight legs, thus the name.

This is an easy pattern; starting with the toe loop, you will work upward toward the ankle. The straps are worked in one piece across the top, creating the final row.

I’ve included photos to help you along the way.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:
-Size 10 Cotton Crochet Thread (I used South Maid)
-Crochet Hook Size 1.5mm
-Needle to sew in ends

Size: Adult foot, adjustable

Stitches Used: Ch=Chain, Sl st=Slip Stitch, Sc=Single Crochet, Dc=Double Crochet

Special Terms Used:
Shell=(2dc-ch2-2dc) in same space.
Shell in shell= shell in ch 2 space of shell from previous row
