At Knitters Day Out, our booth Liverpool Yarns was across the way from JoycePryceFiberArts, so I got to look at and lust after her gorgeous gradient packs. I went for the Copper colorway and then held on to it for several months, saving it for something special.

Aramingo was it.

All-over chevron lace flows across this top-down triangular shawl, ending in a wide 3x3 ribbing. It’s blocked aggressively to show off the lace and to create a soft, drapey fabric.

The set of gradient mini-skeins contained six skeins of 100 yards each. I didn’t use all of the 600 yards---about 400 altogether. So you can also use 400 yards of any fingering weight yarn if you’d rather have a one-color shawl.

The directions for the shawl body are charted only, and the directions for the ribbing are written.

This has a skill level of Intermediate: you do need to be comfortable reading a chart.

The finished measurements are a wingspan of 56” after blocking and a back length of 24” after blocking.

You will need 400 yards of fingering weight yarn and a US size 5 (3.75mm) 32” circular needle. While gauge is not crucial, it will affect the finished size of the shawl and the amount of yarn used.
