Arbury is a semi-circular shawl which uses two different types of yarn - a solid / semi solid yarn and a variegated yarn - to create stunning chevron stripes and blocks of colour.

Using this combination of semi-solid and variegated yarn adds extra interest to the stripe section. The pattern moves from chevron stripes into a short row section that showcases the variegated yarn. In the sample shawl this is a gorgeous skein of Riverknits Chimera in the Pomegranate colourway.

A deep border incorporating a simple lace pattern and dramatic points finishes the shawl.

Size
The finished shawl measured approx. 60cm x 150cm after blocking.

Yarn requirements:
Colour 1: 20g / 80m Nene (1 mini skein) from Riverknits, or suitable 4ply weight yarn
Colour 2: 50g / 195m Chimera (1 skein) from Riverknits, or suitable 4ply weight yarn
Colour 3: 100g / 400g Nene (1 full sized skein) from Riverknits, or suitable 4ply weight yarn

Sample shawl uses:
Colour 1 - Riverknits Nene 4 ply in Unicorn Indigo
Colour 2 - Riverknits Chimera in Pomegranate
Colour 3 - Riverknits Nene 4 ply in Salzbrise

It is possible to knit your shawl with either 2 or 3 colours as follows:
For a two colour shawl select the same colourway for colour 1 and colour 3 ie 120g of yarn in the same colourway.
For a three colour shawl select different colourways for colour 1 and colour 3

Gauge
28 sts and 40 rows make a 10cm square in stocking stitch before blocking.

Achieving gauge isn’t vital for this design, but your choice of yarn and needles will affect yarn yardage so please do bear this in mind when selecting your yarn if you do not achieve gauge.
