So many choices are available in this one pattern.

The Arctic Chill Hat and double cowl will keep you snuggly warm when the cold wind blows. It is a versatile and unique winter accessory for cold temperatures. The garment incorporates a generous hood and two cowls, all knitted together. Combining all three together is very easy.

The Arctic Chill’s generous hood accommodates layering another hat such as a beanie (not included in this pattern). The outer cowl lays smooth (without bunching) so that it can be worn under or over your coat, providing extra warmth to your shoulders, upper chest and back. The exclusive inner cowl can be pulled up high over your face for those extra blustery days or it can be worn low around your neck.

Another choice is not to knit the inner cowl and just knit the hood and the outer cowl.

You can mix and match the outer and inner cowl with several choices of stitches all of which are included. The hood is knit in a simple stockinette stitch. There are two choices for the outer cowl and two choices for the inner cowl as shown in the pics.

The Arctic Chill uses #4 worsted weight held double which creates a substantial fabric that is extra warm. You may substitute #5 bulky weight yarn held single if it produces the gauge required.

Basic stitches are used throughout and there are illustrations showing how this garment is easily connected and knit all in one piece.

The companion pattern to the Arctic Chill is the Montana Hat using Super Bulky yarn. Check out my online shops.
