Crochet your very own soft doll inspired by the Pokemon Articuno/Freezer pocket monster with this pattern. With a C/2.75mm hook and DK/lightweight yarn, your arctic bird will be about 8.5 inches (22 cm) tall from head to talons. Or, for a larger figure, make your bird with an E/3.5mm hook and worsted weight yarn. The figure is designed to stand or sit when you add wire to the legs as instructed in the pattern.

Materials and tools needed: C crochet hook, DK/lightweight yarn, white and brown felt, white embroidery floss, a small needle, tacky glue, wire (optional), stuffing, stiff hairbrush for the fuzzy belly, tapestry needle, embroidery scissors, and large-headed pins.

The pattern is for those with intermediate to advanced crochet skills and needle-work skills (not recommended for beginners). Instructions are in English with US crochet terms. Parts are made in spiral rounds. You will need to know how to:
-- read a crochet pattern
-- chain
-- slip stitch
-- single crochet
-- single crochet decrease or invisible decrease
-- color switch
-- whipstitch

Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- tools and materials list
