UPDATE NOV 28, 2020: I’ve added a V2 pdf. This is a preview of the updated sizing to include 6 mo and 12 mo sizing. They’re currently untested. If you knit one of these sizes and have feedback, please PM me!

UPDATE MARCH 22, 2018: With experience, and time, I’ve come to realize there are many things about this pattern that needed updating. Mainly the gauge requirements and the method which is used for the crown decreases. The general format also needed to be updated to be in line with how my patterns are typically laid out now. Although this is a free pattern, it’s important to me to be able to provide a GOOD knitting experience for you when you use ANY of my patterns.

This is a hat pattern that I designed because I couldn’t find what I was looking for when I needed a simple baby hat. There are so many available, but none were “perfect” for what I needed. I love this pattern because it’s so simple and works up in about 4 hours with my slow knitting skills. The instructions are simple and there are no charts.

I’ve done two as gifts and one for my daughter as well and the pattern never fails.

I knit mine using a 40” magic loop. Double pointed needles would also work.
You’ll want a tapestry/yarn needle to weave in ends.

One 3.5 oz skein will easily make 3 of these with a little yarn leftover.
