Gaillardia aristata, also known as Common Blanket Flower, is a red and yellow member of the daisy family, is found across the prairies on dry hillsides and in open areas. Blanket Flower was used by many First Nations for medicinal purposes. The two colours of the Blanket Flower are the inspiration for this lace and ribbing stole. The colour sections of this stole as designed are asymmetrical, but you can adjust the pattern to have exactly the same number of rows of each lace motif if you desire.
