These mitts were inspired the same way that many of my patterns are: By a request from a friend, and a desire to use up some yarn bits. The cables are all 2 stitch twists, and instructions are provided for working them with or without a cable needle. A second (and even third and fourth) color can be used for the cabled parts - perfect for making a pair of mitts that are uniquely yours.

The mitts are intended to be worn with about 1” of negative ease. The length is adjustable.

If you choose to make the cables in a contrasting color, the intarsia technique is used with the contrast color being used for only a few stitches in each round, and then carried vertically up the mitt (not horizontally around with the main color). Brief instructions are given for this technique, but a full tutorial is not provided in the pattern.
