Alexis Winslow’s stranded mittens feature graphic arrow motifs scaling their length. Worked in a firm, 2-color fabric, the mittens are both warm and refined. Instructions have been included to allow the wrist length to be customized for a shorter or longer mitten. Choose two colors with a high value contrast for a bold, graphic effect as shown, or lessen the contrast for a more understated look.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Mittens are worked circularly from wrist to fingertip, after the completion of the Twisted Hem (worked flat); The top of each mitten is decreased, then gathered with yarn tail to close.
  • A side thumb gusset is shaped as you work the first half of mitten; when the target number of thumb stitches have been reached, you will place these stitches onto waste yarn and resume knitting remainder of mitten.
  • You will return to the held stitches to work Thumb separately.
