Arrr! Two of my sister’s favorite patterns are skulls and argyle, so I decided to combine the two for a fabulous hat!

It took me several revisions and edits, but I’m happy to say that I now am able to offer you this design.

You don’t need all the needles listed. The needle size depends on the size(s) you will be knitting.

• Head Circumference: 16.5 (18, 18.75, 19.75, 20.5, 22.25)”/ 42 (46, 47.5, 50, 51.5, 56.5)cm, fits heads up to 2”/ 5cm larger than finished size

MATERIALS

• Approximately 60-80 yds/153-205 cm of 4 different coordinating colors of DK weight wool yarn.
• Darning needle
• Stitch markers

Sizes XS and M:

• US 4/ 3.5 mm 16”/ 40cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge
• US 4/ 3.5 mm double-pointed needles
• US 2/ 2.75mm 16”/ 40cm circular needles, or 1-2 sizes smaller than main needles

Sizes S and XL:

• US 5/ 3.75 mm 16”/ 40cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge.
• US 5/ 3.75 mm double-pointed needles
• US 3/ 3.25mm 16”/ 40cm circular needles, or 1-2 sizes smaller than main needles

Sizes L and XXL:

• US 6/4 mm 16”/ 40cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge.
• US 6/4 mm double pointed needles
• US 4/ 3.5 mm 16”/ 40cm circular needles, or 1-2 sizes smaller than main needles

GAUGE

• 25 sts and 31 rows = 4”/ 10cm in St st. on US 4/ 3.5mm
• 23 sts and 29 rows = 4”/ 10cm in St st. on US 5/ 3.75mm
• 21 sts and 27 rows = 4”/ 10cm in St st. on US 6/ 4mm
