Whenever I’m naming a pattern, I try to avoid using a colour reference. As much as I think Marigold Cardigan is a gorgeous name, it makes less sense if someone makes this cardigan in blue. You know what I mean? I was looking at myself wearing this cardigan in the mirror and I thought I looked like a funky art teacher. You know how art teachers always dress a bit differently to the other teachers?

Like when you’re new at a school and you see a woman walking down the corridor wearing a long floaty skirt with heaps of jangly silver bracelets and scarves and you’re all ‘Well she’s obviously the art teacher.’ I designed this cardigan to be a casual design with a fancy looking stitch, so you can dress it up or down. It’s the perfect thing to pop on when it’s a bit chilly and you have to go teach your nighttime adult painting class.
