Always an avid reader, when I was young my brother gave me a small paperback encyclopedia of classical mythology. I was instantly fascinated by the tales of the gods and goddesses that filled its pages.
That fascination has followed me through the years and often found a home in many of my creative endeavours, whether writing, drawing, painting, sculpting, and now—knitting.
Artemis was the Greek goddess of the moon, the forest and the hunt and is often depicted with a bow and arrow.
This shawlette pays homage to this mysterious goddess with its open, lacy arrow motif.
It is knit in luxurious Fluffy Cat by Wandering Cat Yarns. Fluffy Cat is a fingering weight blend of alpaca, silk and cashmere, but it can be knit in any fingering weight yarn.
You can also substitute a heavier yarn, just be sure to adjust the needle size and yardage accordingly.
However you decide to knit it, one thing is for sure, it’s a shawl fit for goddess.
