A quick knit to geek up your kitchen or someone you love’s. I made these as part of a wedding present for two of my friends in two different years and am just now getting around to transcribing my handwritten notes into charts/patterns. Please let me know if there are errors (the charts are more likely to be correct than the written instructions, because I’m a visual drafter). Details as follows:

Size: not important, so long as 39 stitches by 51-53 rows makes a decent washcloth/dishcloth

Gauge: meh.

Materials:
Lionbrand Jiffy yarn, any color, 1 skein makes about 2 washcloths
Pair of US size 8 knitting needles
Crochet hook (any size, I think I used a K?) and tapestry needle for finishing

Arwen and Aragorn are one of the more popular couples in the LOTR universe, making the Tree of Gondor and Elven Leaf motifs a nice pair of symbols for enduring love. The best part: all you need to know to make these are knit, purl, and basic cable. And the Tree has a lovely palindromic symmetry that will make it easy to understand as you work it. Enjoy!
