Need a quick last minute gift? These worsted weight handwarmers are worked as flat rectangles, then the cast on and bound off edges are sewn together, leaving an opening for the thumb. The slipped stitch pattern adds some visual variety to a variegated yarn, or looks quite handsome on its own in a solid. Any medium weight yarn will do, though some wool or alpaca content will give the most warmth.
