Åsne’s Chunky Beanie

Inspired by the Åsne’s Sweater, the Åsne’s Chunky Beanie is a classic ribbed beanie, ideal for beginners. Its folded brim will keep your ears extra warm during fall and winter. This is a quick project and it is a perfect last minute gift for someone special.

The Åsne’s Chunky Beanie is worked seamless in the round, bottom up. It is worked on the wrong so when its turned the neater side of the cast on edge will be facing out.

Gauge: 13 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm on 5.5 mm (US 9) needles in ribbed pattern

Notions:
5.5 mm (US 9) 16 cm circular needles + longer circular needles for magic loop or dpns for crown
40, (50, 70, 90) grams of Hip Wool or aran weight yarn
10 (15, 20, 25) grams of Hip Mohair or lace weight yarn
1 stitch marker
tapestry needle

Measurements:
Please note that these measurements were taken after blocking and that this beanie is super stretchy.

Beanie circumference: 35 (41, 47, 53) cm.

Yardage:
Please note that the use of mohair or lace weigh yarn is optional, but highly recommended. It looks amazing and gives a softer feel. If using a different aran/lace weight yarn than suggested, this is the approximate yardage you will need of each:

1-2 yrs 70 yards / 64 meters
3-4 yrs 88 yards / 80 meters
kid/teen 124 yards / 113 meters
adult 160 yards / 146 meters

1 ball of Hip Wool = 50 g / 88 yds / 80 m
1 ball of Lace = 25 g / 340 yds / 310 m
