Astbury shawl
Astbury is a top-down, elongated triangular shawl with a rounded bottom edge. The design features a garter stitch body and a textured lace border.
Construction : Astbury shawl starts at the center back of the neck with a garter tab and is knit down to the bottom edge. A 3-stitch garter border is worked at the beginning and end of each row.
On the shawl body, there are four increases on right side rows and two increases on wrong side rows.
On the shawl border, there are two increases on each row but there are no more center increases.
An 6-row garter edge is worked after the lace border.
Size and yardage : The pattern-size shawl measures 30,71”x 21,26” (78 x 54 cm), relaxed after blocked and uses 582 yards (532 m) of DK weight on a US size 7 (4.5 mm) needle.
