Aster means star in Ancient Greek and it was given this name to refer to the shape of its flower head.

The Hungarian revolution on 31st October 1918 became known as the “Aster Revolution” as protesters in Budapest wore this flower.

This pattern is worked in the round and I use abbreviations according to US crochet language. I can provide the pattern in UK crochet language if preferred, please just contact me.

The finished aster is approximately 3” (7.5cm) in diameter. This flower would be beautiful as a brooch or bag embellishment.

Tools Needed:
US size E (3.5mm) crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle

Yarn Needed:
DK acrylic yarn in lavender and golden yellow.

Other Materials Needed:
tiny amount of polyester/toy stuffing.
