This pattern is done all in one piece. No grafting necessary! The test knitters were a bit intimidated by the pattern, I encourage them to just follow the pattern and as you go it would make sense. Everyone was able to knit the shawl without any issues!

Yarn choices:

You will need 2 solid colors and 1 multi color in fingering wt. For both shawls showcased, I use a multi yarn that was UNDER 400 yds. I played yarn chicken with the multi colors. So if you are a loose knitter I would suggest you go down a size needle or make sure you use a multi color yarn that has more yardage. The test knitters used Malabrigo Mechita and did not have any issues with running out of yarn. This yarn has 420yds per hank.

The shawl using Jorstad Creek yarns were all different types of wool. The Avalon Mist is actually a lace wt. but since it is a textured yarn it went well with the rest of the yarns.

In the pattern I have included a name of a YouTube video that will be helpful to watch to have a visual of how to knit the Aster flower stitch.
