The Astoria Pier Hat is a classic fisherman beanie. It is very quick to work up and is perfect for background knitting (ie: knitting
while watching a movie, in class, on a car journey, etc). Literally every row is the same until you get to
the crown!

As written the pattern will make a hat that just pulls over your ears when folded down and just sits above your ears when folded up. If you add an additional 20 rows it will sit over your ears when folded up.

The pattern uses center double decreases (CDD) to create the crown. This is a perfect pattern to learn this new skill if you haven’t tried it yet. There are many tutorials on youtube, just search “CDD Knitting” and watch a few.

To complete this hat you’ll need about 150y of your favorite worsted weight yarn.
