Astrid Blanket
Astrid Blanket Pattern
This blanket was designed with scraps in mind! We all have them lying around-those bits and balls, odds and ends that you just can’t part with. Lets turn them into something beautiful! I designed the Astrid blanket with scraps and stash in mind.
The pattern is written and made in Merino worsted/Aran weight yarns (ranging from 220yds/100g to 181yds/100g) with a 6mm and 5.5mm crochet hook. I used yarns from WeCrochet, Ravenswood Fibre Co., Wool and Works and joined my blanket with Knit Picks Swish Worsted Bare (220yds/100g).
Included in the pattern is a 3 page section on how to customize the blanket to your own scraps. If you are someone who has more DK weight scraps (just for example)-then I show the exact breakdown and calculations needed to determine how much yarn will be needed for your project. Pro tip: if you’re newer to crochet this is the same method used to determine all granny square projects so it’s a very handy outline to have :)
Pattern will include:
- yarn amounts.
- stitch glossary.
- printable pdf.
- a section on how to plan, swatch and calculate your very own blanket.
- full written instructions for the Anne’s Puff Stitch granny square motif used.
- video tutorials for the puff stitch granny square and the continuous join as you go method.
Happy Crocheting Everyone!
