Astrid's Lofoten blanket
Continuing with my beautiful Norwegian towns and cities, this is Lofoten. A dramatic Arctic Archipelago in Nordalnd, Norway, Lofoten is known for its jagged mountain peaks, deep fjords, white sand beaches and traditional fishing villages. While in summer (April to late August) the midnight sun provides 24 hours of light, in the dark winter months you can see the northern lights presenting the most spectacular natural show of lights in the sky.
This blanket is done in Interlocking crochet, and the pattern comes with instructions on the technique itself, plus photo tutorials on how to get started and how to make the colour changes.
I chose Scheepjes Catona for this project. The pattern includes a list of all the colours used, and how many grams of each. It is easy to follow my colour scheme or just make your own colours, I added a “colouring page” for you to play around with your colour preferences.
If you are new to the technique, you can find my tutorials with a free downloadable pattern to follow here: Astrid’s Interlocking crochet YouTube channel
