Papillon means butterfly in French. And with spring coming I thought that a butterfly was needed. I drew it with doodles, to match my flower power blanket, and I really enjoyed making it. The contours of the drawing are made with plain dc’s which makes the motif stand out very nicely. The technique is interlocking crochet, and the pattern comes with detailed instructions on the technique and a photo guide on how to get started.

My finished blanket, using Scheepjes Catona (24x50gr 205 Kiwi and 22x50gr 105 Bridal White) and a 3mm hook is approximately 1,4m x 1,6m. It can be done with any hook or yarn, just note that the size will change accordingly. However, the proportions to the figure will stay the same.

I hope you enjoy this!
