This blanket, using interlocking crochet technique, is inspired by the beautiful coloured African patterns. It is done sideways to make the colour changes easy. The name, Waka waka, is taken from Cameroon slang, and it means “do it!”. The pattern is written row by row, and a graph is also included, as well as general information on the technique. For beginners, it is not difficult. All it uses are dc, chain one and skip one. The whole blanket took 52 skeins, half approximately are basic colour (green) and the rest distributed between all the background colours. Enjoy, do it!

My finished blanket measures 1,5m wide x 1,9m long.
