The Astronomer Shawl is an adventure through the stars exploring mosaic knitting, simple brioche and lace. The shawl is perfect as a first brioche project and the variety of techniques make it a such fun and engaging project.

Charts are included for the lace sections in addition to written line by line instructions.

Yarn: The sample used a total of 1161 yards/1062m (approx 150g) of Fingering weight yarn in three different colours. The sample used the following yarns and amounts:

Colour A – 50g (233yds/213m): The Yarn Lab 4 ply in “Auror” (464yds/425m per 100g)
Colour B – 100g (465yds/425m): The Yarn Lab 4 ply in “The Movement of Planets” (464yds/425m per 100g)
Colour C – 100g (465yds/425m): The Yarn Lab 4 ply in “Studying of Stars” (464yds/425m per 100g)

Recommended Needle Size: 32” or longer 3.75mm (US Size 5) circular needle, or appropriate size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 23 sts / 36 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch
