Athwart Mitts are two-color garter stitch fingerless mitts worked side to side with an asymmetrical lace panel gliding up the top of the hand.

Athwart Mitts are knit with Jamieson and Smith Shetland Heritage, which recreates the original characteristics of handspun “wursit” used in Shetland. The yarn is replicated from that found in knitted Fair Isle garments in the collection of Shetland Museum and Archives.**

Kits for Athwart were sent as November’s shipment for Lola’s Choice (Laura’s super fun small knitted kit club).
You can also purchase the pattern as a pdf and gather your own supplies to make these fun mitts.
