Skill level: Easy
Basic crochet stitches + the puff stitch (which you will master quickly)!

Started at the center top, each row increases on either side to create a geometric, half-moon shape.

Finished Dimensions: 70 x 30” (before blocking, approximately)

This beautiful project was designed to go everywhere, and as the design began taking shape I was reminded so much of a moth’s wings, hence the name Atlas (after the Atlas Moth). But the word Atlas also applies as it is a go-anywhere, wear-anywhere kind of piece. Over cold shoulders during warmer months, or as a scarf in fall and winter.

As a longtime fan of We Are Knitters, I designed this shawl with The Pima Cotton, chosen specifically for its weight and drape. It’s a beautiful 100% cotton yarn. I do recommend using this yarn, but substitutions can be made. I’d suggest a DK or light worsted weight plied yarn.

If opting for a larger version and adding additional rows, please make sure to purchase additional yarn!. This pattern, as written, uses almost exactly 4 balls (928 yards).
