Attakai is the Japanese word for “warm”. This pattern was inspired by warm spring and summer days, when the temperatures drop in the evening and you want something airy and light to keep you warm at night.

The socks are knit top-down, starting with a simple cuff and then moving on to the delicate lace which is flanked by simple, yet beautiful lifted-over knot stitches. These socks are the perfect breezy companions for warmer days. The open lace at the front of the foot allows for enough air to flow through, while the rest of the sock will keep you nicely warm.

Yarn
The sample was made using Woollentwine Fibrestudio Corriedale Sock (100% corriedale wool, 400m/437yds, 100 g per skein) in the Mist colourway.
Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used.

Needles
Gauge-sized needles, the sample was made using 2.5mm (US 1 1⁄2) needles. You can use either short circular needles, long circular needles for magic loop, or DPN’s.
