Attribut
Who doesn’t like bold statement earrings? Well - quite a few people actually. The six designs included in this pattern are named after traits that may be attributed to someone who does wear and love them: Dramatic, Conceited, Loud, Over The Top, Hysterical and Vain.
I have gladly come to terms with all of those traits during my days of flamboyant and sometimes horrific fashion choices; I’m enjoying this opportunity to wear them proudly and let them dangle from my ears. A perfect way to embrace them all, don’t you think? I’m hoping you will do the same, and really go for bold colors and fabulous materials like there’s no tomorrow. Enjoy!
YARN
The yarns I’ve used for my earrings are listed here as well as in the pattern - but a pair of earrings is also the perfect project for your scrap yarns. There’s no need for traditional swatching - just knit a few rows according to the pattern and measure. Frogging won’t hurt too much if needed.
NEEDLES
I have used thinner needles than the yarns call for - dense knitting makes for a neat and sturdy look. The earrings are worked back and forth. Double pointed needles are a good choice. Switch to thinner needles if your earrings turn out too big - or thicker if they turn out too small.
MATERIALS
You will be needing a darning needle, and for the design Conceited you may want to use a small cable needle. You will also be needing earring studs or hooks. If you use studs, try to find some that have loops where you can securely fasten your knits.
