Atween is a modular shawl that uses traditional Shetland Shawl construction techniques in a unique way. It is knit in two custom colors of Cece’s Wool 2-ply a scrumptious light fingering weight merino yarn milled in the US.

Atween starts by knitting trapezoids (aka traps) that then have extensions knit off them. These extensions are worked in a slip stich beaded plaid and grafted together. Once the body of the shawl is done an attached I-Cord is worked along the top, and finally a modern lace border is worked along the remaining edges.

The result is a voluminous and striking shawl that is both a joy to knit and wear.
