Inspiration for this block came from the rising heat that radiates throughout the month of August. The sun burns down upon our Utah landscape sneaking out from behind the beautiful mountain ranges that frame in the Salt Lake valley. Cables trail up the valley into the mountains, while a burly trunk meets a scrumptious foliage made up of large bobbles. A simple sun shines down upon this glowing summer scene.

Includes a lined version of the pattern that highlights every other row for easier following.

This afghan block is the eighth block in a series of 12 for the Year of the Afghan. Every first Tuesday of the month I will release the newest square throughout 2015.

Click here to purchase the e-book for $15 and on the first Tuesday of each month you will receive the updated copy with that month’s pattern without having to remember to upload it.

All squares will follow an outdoor scene theme and will involve different stitches and cables.
