Auseklis is the morning star. It embodies the principle of light winning over darkness. Light does always win, proof of this is the fact that the world even exists. Without light there would be nothing, we would see nothing, we would not exist. The Auseklis symbol has light radiating out from the center, from the black hole, like the beginning of the universe as we know it. In the mittens of Līvāni, Auseklis is bordered by the tree of life, with its roots in the past and branches reaching towards the future. We live in the trunk, the here and now. It is appropriate that the shape of this cowl is infinity which is never ending, where you constantly travel from the dark to the light and back again. Like life.

The pattern is engineered so that each Uneek stripe fits exactly into one section of the Auseklis band. There are 3 rows in between bands where the colors will transition to the next stripe. If you knit 4 rows in between bands, as in the Black Grape sample you run the risk of running out of yarn.
