The Southern Boobook is the smallest and most common owl in Australia.
Southern Boobooks are found throughout mainland Australia and Tasmania, and on some coastal islands. Closely related species are found in New Zealand, New Guinea and Indonesia.

The Southern Boobook feeds on insects, small mammals (such as the House Mouse, Mus musculus) and other small animal species.
It’s distinctive “boo-book” or “more-pork” call can even be heard in the inner city suburbs.

Everybody seems to find owls very captivating, mainly because their eyes face forward and look straight at you.

Knit this little fellow for yourself or as a gift for loved ones. Its not hard and very satisfying!
