For the sample, I used about 1000m of Baskerville Dark. It is easily adjustable for any amount of yarn, in any weight.

I started designing this pattern about 6 weeks before the 2018 Edinburgh Yarn Festival. It was a last minute decision for me to go, and most of my winterwear was still in a shipping container on its way to me in Singapore.

All I had was an open-front cardigan, and the weather was still unexpectedly cold. I had limited time and limited yarn to choose from. I went with garter stitch because it is fast for me, and I chose a construction that guaranteed I would not run out of yarn.

The name of the pattern is in honor of my friend, katepricey, and her Australian Under Cowl. When we both lived in London, she often wore an extra cowl beneath another cowl to stay warm. Like her Under Cowl, the Under Wrap is designed to be worn under even more knits as an extra layer of warmth.

Thanks to dmawunker and kaebe for test knitting, thegoldenfleece for all the editing help, and Elizar for her helpful comments in clarifying the instructions.
