The pattern produces female seamless and reversible hat that starts with a perfectly stretchy cast on, continues in two color brioche rib and developes into simple brioche mock cable pattern. It looks just as nice inside and outside.

It is not suitable for begginers, but if you’ve ever knitted two color brioche rib, you should be able to follow the pattern, since most rounds are exactly the same.

Sizes given are Child/Small adult and Adult with 40/50cm circumference on the cast on edge before stretching and 19cm from top to bottom. The hat is designed to fit without too much stretching, so if you wish to make it snug and make the stitches truly show, you should probably choose the smaller size. The pattern also shows how to adjust the number of stitches if necessary.

The pattern requires worsted weight yarn in two different colors. However, the size can be easily adjusted, so the only true requirement for the yarn is to be soft enough to be used in brioche knitting.

IMPORTANT: Take a good look at the photos on this page or my blog! You have to make a color choice before you start! Although the hat is fully reversible, you should probably choose your side right away!

The choice of the lighter color yarn as MC will emphasize the cables on the rights side of the pattern, if this is the side you want to wear.

The other way around, choosing darker color yarn as MC shows nicer branches on the wrong side, as you can see in the photos. In this case, you will probably wear the hat on the wrong side. But in the end, it’s up to you!

Happy knitting!
