Autumn: the time of year when the leaves turn wonderful colours of golds, reds, and orange. They start to fall.
This cowl is worked from the top down, so as the trailing leaves pattern resembles the falling leaves. Reminiscent of tree trunks, a small rib column links the leaf sections, and ends in tassels with sewn on leaf shapes. The cowl could also be worked from the bottom up, so that the leaves appear to be growing, for a spring/summer look. (The leaves work just as well hanging from the top!) A picot edge frames the cowl.
A small braided cord can be threaded through the eyelet border to be pulled up for those “fresher” days.
