The design for these Autumn Mittens was inspired by my Autumn Leaves Shawl. I live in the northern hemisphere where we are currently enjoying our autumn season. The leaves are changing to the most beautiful shades of yellow, red and brown and falling from the trees.

I have used Orielle DK yarn by Louisa Harding to knit these mittens in a shade called Umbria. This yarn is just perfect for knitting mittens as colourful and vibrant as the autumn season.

These mittens are worked from the bottom up. The cable ribbed cuff is knitted first before moving onto the reverse stocking stitch and tree pattern of the mitten body. The thumb is knitted after completing the body of the mitten.

Instructions for these mittens are provided in both written and charted format.
